This week, we’ve got a 13-fight card in Boise, Idaho. It’s headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs Blagoy Ivanov, who is making his UFC debut. DraftKings has smaller competitions with this card because it’s just a Fight Night card with lesser known name, but there is still well over $100k to be won. I’ll be pursuing my fair share of that money and I hope you guys will be . Here are a couple plays I like this weekend and my fade of this week.
Cash Game play of the week — Alexander Volkanovski ($9,200)
I think Volkanovski is the”safest” play on this particular card and his -300 gaming lineup would concur with me. That is where I’ll be starting my lineup this week and I’ll figure out the rest from there. Volkanovski averages 116.5 DK points through his first four UFC fights so he has a whole lot of upside as well. He could possible score more than two other winners on this particular card combined. I do think he is in drama for GPPs as well for this reason, but he will probably be the heaviest owned fighter on the card and we don’t care about ownership as much in cash games. I’d suggest paying up for the expensive cost on your money games and then search for three or more others wins you are confident in.
GPP play of the week — Junior Dos Santos ($8,700)
JDS ought to be the way better striker in this struggle and I believe this is where the battle will occur. He could get KO’d at the opening seconds of the fight and score 0 points, but this is what makes him a GPP play instead of a money match play. With these two Heavyweights, we need to likely see a KO inside the 25-minues and I feel the former winner, JDS, will be the one to receive it. He’s got good takedown defense so he should be able to keep this battle on the toes where he’ll have a 4-inch reach advantage to work with.
Underdog drama of this week — Niko Price ($7,900)
Niko will function as underdog drama of the week. The chances indicate that the fight should be fairly close and there’s a great possibility that he utilizes his wrestling to gain the advantage. In 5 fights that he hasn’t seen a decision yet, and there is a chance it stays that way if he receives Brown into the ground. Niko includes some slick submissions in his arsenal and a great deal of heart. On the feet, Brown likely has the benefit with his achieve, but Price does have some sneaky power also, which can’t be overlooked. Overall, I like this as a GPP play.
Fade of the week — Alejandro Perez ($9,100)
Perez is the 2nd most expensive fighter on this card and he is just $100 less expensive than Volkanovski. In my view, Perez will need a end to have a shot at paying that pricey salary and that I do not wish to invest in that, personally. He has never landed greater than one takedown in a struggle and Wineland has exceptional takedown defense, so we must see this fight occur on the toes. I believe Perez should be the one to get his hand raised in the conclusion but I think that it’s going to be via decision. If that is true then he could score ~60 points in a win, and at $9.1k that isn’t likely to win anybody a tournament. I’ll be complete fading Perez this week and hoping he does not get the end and he’s my official evaporate of this week.
