The UFC heads north of the border for the final Fox card of this year once it puts up the Octagon at Winnipeg on December 16. The main event features Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos — two former champions with competitive, crowd-pleasing fashions — at a bout that could go a very long way to determining the next welterweight title challenger.
The card top to bottom should be stacked to the brim with endings with the likes of Mike Perry, Santiago Ponzinibbio and Oluwale Bamgbose advised to compete.
Robbie Lawler vs Rafael Dos Anjos
Robbie Lawler (-110) is the definition of an exciting fighter. The southpaw goes well with his feet and angles exceptionally well thanks to his wealth of expertise from the Octagon. These skills allow him to relentlessly punish his competition with either his power mixes or crafty counter-strikes. You have to wonder whether he can sustain this style and tear.
“Ruthless” is essentially a sprawl-and-brawler. He’s got strong defensive wrestling that’s backed up by his openness to punish opponents who shoot for his or her legs. Only rarely will you see him shoot for a takedown himself however he’s capable of doing so.
Rafael dos Anjos (-120) is mainly a pressure fighter who excels in dictating the pace of the struggle. Dos Anjos typically works behind a consistent pumping jab and a few brutal leg kicks. His footwork helps him cut off the cage and suffocate his competitor. After his competitor is backed on the cage, then RDA either blitzes with heavy palms or grinds out a takedown.
